“Is this really Free Checking?” Of course it is. With GB&T Free Checking, write an unlimited number of checks with no minimum daily balance and no fees. Certain related charges, if applicable, could be assessed at a higher rate. Our Free Checking account includes:

Non interest-bearing account
No minimum balance
No fees
Check images are not returned with the account statement

Interest Checking

To earn interest on your checking deposits, step up your average balance and select Interest Checking. Interest is calculated and compounded daily, and credited to your account monthly. Should your balance fall below the prescribed minimum, a maintenance fee will be assessed, but without a per-check charge.

Maintain a minimum daily balance of $1,000 or a minimum average daily balance of $2,000 to avoid monthly service fees
If minimum balance requirements are not met, a $12 monthly service fee will be charged to your account

Tier 1 - $999 or less
Tier 2 - $1,000-$3,499
Tier 3 - $3,500 or more
